Servpro First Responders Bowl: A detalied Recap

A perfect way to end a season of what ifs

NCAA Football: SERVPRO First Responder Bowl-Boston College vs Boise State Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

So...Boise State’s bowl game was canceled. Seems fitting, right? I’m not going to sit here and sugarcoat things. This was a season of what might-have-beens. What would the season have been like if the Broncos could have put together a decent special teams unit? What would have happened if the Broncos didn’t have a million injuries? Why was a bowl game canceled? Unfortunately, we will never know the answer to theses questions. The game was canceled with five minutes left in the first quarter. It looked like the defense was starting to make adjustments, and the offense, as per the usual, was struggling to find its identity. Rather than writing about a game that technically didn’t happen, I thought it would be fun to gather some Twitter reactions. Here we go...

The Broncos have been part of plenty of memorable moments; this bowl game (or lack thereof) qualifies as memorable...

The fans couldn’t even get this question answered. Oh well, the Broncos should have a nice stable of young running backs next year. Would be a position of strength if Mattison returns.

The bowl could have at least refunded the tickets; this is getting more and more ridiculous.

I came very close to attending this game. I feel terrible for the families and fans who sacrificed their holidays for this.

Sure, why not?

So, I think that about sums things up. Stay tuned, as I will have a variety of season ending articles in the coming days. Happy Holidays!
