So...Boise State’s bowl game was canceled. Seems fitting, right? I’m not going to sit here and sugarcoat things. This was a season of what might-have-beens. What would the season have been like if the Broncos could have put together a decent special teams unit? What would have happened if the Broncos didn’t have a million injuries? Why was a bowl game canceled? Unfortunately, we will never know the answer to theses questions. The game was canceled with five minutes left in the first quarter. It looked like the defense was starting to make adjustments, and the offense, as per the usual, was struggling to find its identity. Rather than writing about a game that technically didn’t happen, I thought it would be fun to gather some Twitter reactions. Here we go...
The Servpro First Responder Bowl will go down as the first postseason FBS bowl to be canceled https://t.co/nRy79iDUqS

The Broncos have been part of plenty of memorable moments; this bowl game (or lack thereof) qualifies as memorable...
#BoiseState RB Alexander Mattison politely declines post game interview with media, says he hasn’t made a decision on NFL yet

The fans couldn’t even get this question answered. Oh well, the Broncos should have a nice stable of young running backs next year. Would be a position of strength if Mattison returns.
Bowl considers ticket sales final. Boise State AD Curt Apsey said he wants to do something for fans who made the trip but no specifics yet.

The bowl could have at least refunded the tickets; this is getting more and more ridiculous.
Talked a player’s parent that shelled out $2,500 for family to fly down on Christmas for the game today. Got to see about 10 minutes of action.

I came very close to attending this game. I feel terrible for the families and fans who sacrificed their holidays for this.
I have a solution. Boise State vs. Boston College in Dublin in Week 0 to open the 2019 season. The Unfinished Business Bowl, presented by Guinness.

I’m in. Are you?
Sure, why not?
So, I think that about sums things up. Stay tuned, as I will have a variety of season ending articles in the coming days. Happy Holidays!
