NCAA Football: Air Force at Wyoming Troy Babbitt-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to a Christmas day edition of Mountaintop View. We hope everyone is having a happy holiday but there are still some articles to keep you all updated on.

Game-by-game recap of Wyoming’s season

Wyoming had their third straight .500 or better season and reached bowl eligibility, unfortunately they were one of 4 eligible teams not selected for a bowl game. Was this a successful season for Craig Bohl and his team? That seems to depend on how you look at it. The Casper Star Tribune has put together an in depth recap of every Cowboy game this season, take a look.

Boise State will be without key offensive players in bowl game

Boise State will head into the First Responders bowl down 2 wide receivers and their back up running back. WR John Hightower and RB Robert Mahone have been ruled academically ineligible while WR Khalil Shakir is out with injury. Each player has made key contributions to this Bronco team but won’t be making an impact against Boston College. In other news Alexander Mattison won’t make his NFL draft decision until after the bowl game.

New Mexico’s struggles continue in 10 point home loss to Penn

Despite holding Penn under their scoring average and to just 1.01 points per possession New Mexico lost at the Pit 75-65. Freshman Drue Drinnon played well, Paul Weir nearly got ejected and Dane Kuiper was out with injury for a second straight game. Geoff Grammer has everything you need to know about the Lobos sixth loss of the season as well as other news and notes from around college hoops.

Week 8 AP poll

This week’s poll saw a lot of teams shuffling places at the top due to Kansas’ loss to Arizona State. Duke has now claimed the top spot. Nevada, still undefeated, remains at number 6. Nevada has one more non-conference game against Utah before opening conference play against Utah State.
