MW Football is back, Week 7 AP poll, NCAA Convention

NCAA Football: Las Vegas Bowl-Arizona State vs Fresno State Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

It is Tuesday, folks, we have some articles for you to catch up on. This past weekend was about as good a start to bowl season as you could have asked for. We have continued football postseason news, a new AP poll and some interesting news about the upcoming NCAA convention. Take a look.

Mountain West has had best football season since 2010 realignment

Since losing TCU, BYU, and Utah earlier this decade the MW might have put together its best season. Utah State, Boise State, and Fresno State could all finish top 30 in S&P+ ratings, more teams than the ACC, with SDSU coming in right behind them. Mountain West football is as good as ever but the question is can they keep this up? We know what Boise can do, as long as Jeff Tedford is around the Bulldogs should continue to be great, Utah State can with a smooth transition into the second Gary Andersen era, and even on a down year SDSU is still top 25 in defense. Hawaii and Nevada have also had recent success. Hopefully, this season is a sign that all is well in Mountain West football.

Week 7 AP poll

Another Tuesday another AP poll. Nevada moves up a spot to number 6 this week thanks to Gonzaga’s second loss of the season. This means Nevada is the highest ranked non-power 5 school. Take a look at which teams have moved up and which teams have fallen out of the top 25.
