Here’s a quick mid-week mini-Recruiting Roundup. Putting this out today because I’ve followed up with more recruits who were taking visits this weekend and rather than wait until Monday, when even more news will be taking place, we can get it out now and start fresh in the usual Monday edition. So this edition will be devoid of this week’s offers, commits, and in-home visits. This is strictly following up on visitors from this past weekend that I wasn’t able to talk with before posting this past Monday’s edition. Enjoy!
Visit Recaps
QB Josh Calvin (Utah State)
“I really enjoyed my visit and I can’t wait to get up there in June. I did see that too. The coaching staff at Utah State is excellent! The staff was professional and they really showed me that they care. I’m really looking forward to arriving in the summer and working with my teammates to bring Utah state championships in the future.”
ATH Mark Perry (Colorado State)
“Their program is on the rise and it’s a really great place everyone cares about the development of the player very deeply and all the coaches are very cool; I liked the whole staff. The coaches talked to me about how they wanted me a lot and how they would use me. They said I would be in a variety of roles; as corner, nickel, safety and possibly have a package on offense to run the ball for them. I like the sound of course of being able to make an impact right away. I’m visiting Colorado this weekend , I also plan to visit Kansas and Louisville. Other than those, I’m focusing on USC and Baylor.”
ATH Jamar Simpson (San Jose State)
“The visit I had went well. Some of the highlights were definitely the campus tour, talking to the coaches, and getting to talk to some of players on their perspective on the program. I talked about the culture of the program, what there expectations are in the future, and what my skill sets can bring to the team. The players were also talking about the culture of the program and just how they are on the road to success they just need the pieces to get them to that point. I can see myself playing at this level with those guys. I can especially with that mindset they have. As for next steps, not 100% sure yet.”
LB Devo Bridges (Fresno State)
“It went great some of my favorite parts was seeing them practice and seeing the campus. Practice was cool, it was faster than my high school ones, different terminology and things like that. I had talked to Coach Tedford we talked about me coming there and that I’m a great fit and Coach Thompson we talked about how they game plan for games and watched some film. They see me playing the SAM linebacker position for them.
