San Diego State sophomore Jalen McDaniels is being sued in a Washington civil court for allegedly filming a sexual act with a female student in 2016. The attorney who filed the suit said they’re likely to file another suit on invasion of privacy. San Diego State released a statement saying that McDaniels will remain with the university and the team during this process. Certainly not positive news for the star forward.
Just when it seemed like all hope was lost for Paul Weir and co., the Lobos come out gun’s blazing vs. a solid Colorado team, leading by as much as 17 points during the first half. Unfortunately, the Buffaloes closed the gap to 9 at halftime and ended up winning the game 78-75. It was a valiant effort by the Lobos, but when a team has dealt with several disappointing results in a young season, moral victories are of no comfort. Coach Weir ended up storming off from his post-game press conference, visibly upset. Pressure is building in Albuquerque.
Wyoming defensive tackle Youhanna Ghaifan received a stay in his misdemeanor case, which is now delayed until January. The star defensive player has been suspended indefinitely since the incident in Ft. Collins. Time will tell if the Cowboys defensive tackle will see the field again for the Cowboys.
Boise State basketball is in a weird position. It’s always been a secondary sport at the “football school”. Despite that, head coach Leon Rice has found stability in Boise, running off a long streak of 20+ win seasons. That streak is under attack by a brutal start to the 2018-2019 season. It’s not totally unexpected, having lost stars like Chandler Hutchison, but early losses to minnows like Idaho State have left Leon and the gang concerned fans would bail. That hasn’t been the case.
