TGIF. I know I’m thankful for the weekend, and you should be too. You know what else you should be thankful for? These fresh links to the top stories in the MWC!

Even in defeat, Lobo lineman Soremekun achieved a dream

It’s hard to find hope in defeat. And for UNM, they’ve done more losing than winning recently. But for Lobo lineman Adebayo Soremekun, Saturday night’s game gave him the opportunity to realize a life long dream. The big man rumbled down the field for a 44-yard fumble return touchdown. Possibly the biggest highlight of the night for the Lobos that would otherwise end in defeat.

Remember Boise State coach’s ‘We physically beat them’ line? Bulldogs sure haven’t

If Fresno State is looking for inspiration for this week’s game against Boise, they won’t have to look far. This same Bulldogs team lost in the MWC Championship game to the Broncos in a close contest last year, 14-17. And now, the word around the Fresno locker room is the comments made by Boise coach Bryan Harsin made after last years game. Harsin talked about how they beat the Bulldogs physically. Needless to say, it has provided all the motivation they need.

It’s win-or-else time for Boise State football. Enjoy the drama – if you can.

It is time for winning and winning only in Boise. The Broncos currently sit at 7-2 and have the Fresno State Bulldogs coming to town tomorrow night. This should make for one of the biggest match-ups of the season! Win out, and the Broncos will have a change to defend their MWC title.

Air Force swept their weekend series against Army, winning both games 4-2. Air Force was able to strike first in the game, but Army would tie in up midway through the 3rd period. But a late goal by Brady Tomlak would seal the game for the Falcons. Air Force G Billy Christopoulos made 19 saves in the winning effort.
