It’s Tuesday and we are continuing to roll out articles centered around the Mountain West Conference. In addition to the links found here, we have quite a bit of original content later today. Make sure you don’t miss it.
Will the Falcons make a bowl game?
Yes but a lot of pieces have to line up the right way. It’s not very likely, but since they qualify academically, there’s still a (long) shot. Read more about it here.
The Rebels tame the Wolf Pack, take the Cannon.
Their season didn’t go as planned, but UNLV sure finished the way they wanted to with a surprising upset of San Diego State and closing our the regular season with a nice come from behind victory over in-state rival Nevada in the Freemont Cannon game.
Two point conversion misses and Aztecs fall.
It was an interesting season for San Diego State. They lost numerous starters to injury and kept winning for the most part. Then they get healthy and end the regular season with three straight losses, falling to the six best record in the MWC. Coach Long said he felt they had a good combination of momentum from scoring on their first overtime play and a two-point conversion play they were confident in. That play didn’t happen due to penalties and a new play was sent in, but wasn’t converted. They hope to bounce back in their upcoming bowl game.
Bulldogs getting ready for round 4 with Broncos.
If the first three games are any indication, this will be a hard-fought, back and forth, close game that comes down to the last play. Expect a great game. With the teams splitting last season and Boise State winning the regular season, is it Fresno State’s turn to win the MWC championship game? This is a nice and detailed preview by the Fresno Bee.
