Week 12 Bowl Projections

Each week members of the Mountain West Connection team will be completing bowl projections. With the lack of bowl tie-ins for the Mountain West, some of these bowl projections required quite a bit of research. We will start with the obvious Mountain West tie-ins and then things get interesting.

Zach: Things were closer than expected in Fort Collins this past weekend, but the results went as expected. Hawaii finally earned their bowl birth. It is looking like the Mountain West might get seven bids, which opens up some interesting possibilities.

Las Vegas Bowl: Boise State vs. Arizona State

Hawaii Bowl: Hawaii vs. FAU

New Mexico Bowl: Wyoming vs. Marshall

Arizona Bowl: Nevada vs. Louisiana-Monroe

Potato Bowl: San Diego State vs. Buffalo

Military Bowl: Utah State vs. Army

Cheez-It Bowl: Fresno State vs. Cal

Matt: Sticking with 6, but this whole thing is a mess

Las Vegas Bowl: Fresno State v. Stanford

Hawaii Bowl: Hawaii v. Memphis

New Mexico Bowl: SDSU v. Marshall

Arizona Bowl: Nevada v. Louisiana-Monroe

Potato Bowl: Boise State v. Buffalo

Cheez-It Bowl: Utah State v. Baylor

FatDuckUW: Air Force, Colorado State, New Mexico, UNLV, and San Jose State are out with losing seasons. Meanwhile, Wyoming is still on the bubble with 6 losses at 5-6. Unfortunately, I don’t see a bowl spot for them should the Cowboys finish 6-6.

Las Vegas Bowl: Boise State vs Arizona

Armed Forces Bowl: Utah State vs Houston

Hawaii Bowl: Hawaii vs Southern Mississippi

Potato Bowl: Nevada vs Eastern Michigan

New Mexico Bowl: Fresno State vs Middle Tennessee State

Arizona Bowl: San Diego State vs Arkansas State

Mike: I’ll move up to 7, but as things shape up, only 6 getting into bowls could still happen. Utah State may or may not end up in the Vegas Bowl, but they currently have the best record and so they deserve the projection this week. Hey, I was right about Hawaii!

New Mexico Bowl: Wyoming vs. Marshall

Arizona Bowl: San Diego State vs. Louisiana-Monroe

Military Bowl: Fresno State vs Army

Cheez-It: Boise State vs. Stanford
