A lot of questions and uncertainty surrounds this program, as it was a trying season. However, the noise can be silenced with a huge upset today. Here is your preview for today’s snow game.
Date: Saturday November 17th 2018 at 12 PM MDT
History: Colorado State leads 39-33-2
TV/Radio: AT&T Sports Network 102.7 FM Northern Colorado
Line: Utah State +28 Over/Under 67.5
Weather: Upper 20s to low 30s and snow!
It’s been a challenging year for this team has there been times where the offense has been explosive with the defense being anemic, and the other way around. Lately it’s been the other way around or both have been bad. With an offensive line that is been very inexperienced and injured a running game has been missing all season. The quarterback has hardly any time to throw weather that’s Colin Hill or KJ Carta-Samuels. Everything that had that can go wrong has gone wrong this season. That can all change today by playing spoiler for Utah State’s chances of stealing a NY6 bid.
Utah State has been lighting it up all season led by quarterback Jordan love. Who has thrown for over 2,600 yards with 26 touchdowns and only four interceptions. A team that has been known for its defense recently has been the most explosive offense and the entire conference. They can be very easily undefeated play nearly defeated at ranked Michigan State team on the road and ever since then they have dominated. Running back Darwin Thompson has over 1,000 total yards this season with 16 touchdowns. Their spread attack will pose a significant challenge for the Rams today. Over their last five games the Aggies have scored over 50 in every game except one. Can the Rams get off the field on third down?
Offensively the Rams will need to play keep away. Control the clock and keep the game low scoring. Touchdowns not field goals has to be the name of the game. Colin Hill needs to play his best game and limit the mistakes. He’s thrown some bad interceptions along with KJ Carta-Samuels. If the Rams can rush for over 120 yards they might have a chance. Converting third downs and taking advantage of limited opportunities. Are they still interested in playing this season? That will be answered in a couple of short hours.
Prediction: Utah State 38 – Colorado State 17. I don’t believe the Rams will be able to stop the Aggies the whole game. This may be a trap game for Utah State, but I believe they’re focused on the prize ahead. Aggies win this comfortably.
