Welcome to another week. The Mountain West had their first big recruiting weekend of the year, with Boise State and UNLV leading the way in the visit department. There was tons of visitors, a good number of new offers handed out and a few commits picked up. But this week it was Boise State, hauling in a 4 star commit during the week and hosting 12 visitors weekend, who takes over the photo banner.
Disclaimer: Due to most recruits getting back from their trips late and due to me being out of town, there aren’t a ton of recruiting interviews. I plan to do another round of posts on Thursday of this week to balance it out.
Visit Recap
CB Marist Liufau (Boise State)
“Overall, the visit was great! I loved everything about it and got all of my questions answered. Some questions I had answered like: What makes Boise State special? How is life as a student athlete at Boise State? What is a strong field of study at Boise State? How do I fit into the Boise State defense? Some highlights were seeing the coaching staff and experiencing some of the things that being a student athlete at Boise State has to offer. Coach Avalos sees me playing different linebacker positions they have. The coaches were very welcoming and open to make sure me and my parents learned all we could about their program. They like that I am versatile and that I have a good motor as a football player. I think I’d do best at an outside position. There definitely a great school I would consider. As for next steps, I do not have any plans for visits just yet.”
DE Casey Kline (Boise State)
“It’s been awesome, and it was great seeing Keeg and Hank just cuz we’ve become so close it was nice to officially meet them. The three of us have just become really close by talking and now we’ve met in person. And we had some solid progress on the recruiting side of it with all the other guys there as well. They were asking us about the whole coaching staff and we were able to fill them in. Got to talk with the coaching staff; yes the three got a private talk with coach Harsin today and I had a meeting with coach Danielson as well. Harsin just said how great we were doing helping the program and mostly positive things. Spencer gave me the basics of what will happen when I leave and my schedule and all that. He said that it will be cold and the hardest I’ve ever worked. Also to expect to be homesick for a while. The honesty is something not everyone does.”
