Top Stories:
- It’s the week of the quarterback. But not in a good way. Around a third of the quarterbacks who started the year for Mountain West teams are out injured, and more may just be benched. This Saturday, San Diego State, UNLV, New Mexico, and Air Force will all have backups in because the starters are injured. Plus Ty Gangi missed some practices this week. Also, San Jose State and now maybe Colorado State put in new QBs to try to turn their season around. Maybe it’s the week of the backup quarterback.
- Recruit Visits. The calendar has flipped to October and recruiting has really stepped up. Boise State and UNLV seem to be going all out this weekend, hosting tons of visitors. But other schools like Hawaii are bringing recruits in as well.

#TaylorTalk:
Aaron Taylor was scheduled to call the Boise State/Wyoming game, but did not, due to a family/personal matter I believe. We hope everything is okay with him and his family and wish him all the best. Even though he wasn’t there in person, he was there in spirit with some memorable quotes from the broadcast team:
Mispronouncing and misremembering names:
- Brett Rypien was called Mark Rypien (by the way, did you know they are related?) and the first half of the game, Alexander Mattison was prounced “Matson”
The name-puns:
- “Rypien loves football and he love to let it rip.”
