Mike Bobo looking for leadership at quarterback

After reopening the quarterback competition last week, CSU is looking for somebody to step up as a leader at the position. Coach Mike Bobo says that the offense lacks leadership, and they need somebody to take charge who will make the routine plays. A bye week allowed them to reevaluate their quarterback situation, but its unclear whether K.J. Carta-Samuels, Colin Hill, or both will play against San Jose State this Saturday.

Wyoming’s accelerated week prior to Hawaii

With a trip to Hawaii coming up this weekend, Wyoming must leave Laramie a day earlier than most weeks. To get a full week of practices in, the Cowboys began preparation for Hawaii on Sunday which is typically an off day. Wyoming will have a lot to work on during their accelerated week after a disappointing loss to Boise State in their Mountain West opener.

Boise State excited to return home

Boise State’s lone home game so far this season came in week 2 against Connecticut. They’ll return home this week where they’ll play 4 of their next 6 games. This week’s game will likely be important to the Mountain West race as they face San Diego State.

Star running back recruit chooses Boise State

Four-star running back recruit George Holani out of St. John Bosco High in California verbally committed to the Broncos Monday night. He’s ranked as the nation’s 14th best running back by 247Sports.com and has a 247 Composite rating of 0.881.

Armani Rogers sidelined

UNLV received disappointing news as starting quarterback Armani Rogers was injured and is expected to be out for 6 weeks. Rogers was having a productive season for the Rebels, especially on the ground. Sophomore Max Gilliam will start for the Rebels in place of Rogers while he’s out.
