Head-to-Head: The Aggies hold a 38-26-4 all-time record against the Cowboys of Wyoming. The Cowboys have won the last two matchups.
What to look for:
High Flying Aggie Offense Against a Lower Tier Wyoming D:
- Utah State is highly nationally ranked in a ton of offensive categories. They’re 2nd in points per game (51.7), 3rd in total points (310), and 23rd in yards per game (479). They’re going up against a Cowboys defense that is allowing 375 yards per game, and 25.7 points per contest. The numbers match up nicely for a surging USU offense.
Can the Aggie Defense Turn a Corner?
- So far, the USU defense has been so-so. They rank 55th nationally in yards allowed per game with 366, individually giving up 208.0 Passing YPG (47th) and 157.0 Rush YPG (66th). Those aren’t elite numbers, but they’re not awful. Fairly pedestrian. Where they excel is in the turnover game, where the Aggies have both seven interceptions and seven fumble recoveries.
Love’s Torrid Pace
- If you haven’t heard, Utah State QB Jordan Love is pretty good. He has been named the MWC Offensive Player of the Week two weeks in a row now, and his numbers back it up. He’s thrown for over 1500 yards, has 14 TD passes to only three interceptions (something he hasn’t done in over a month), and he’s dangerous with his feet too; Love’s got three rushing touchdowns on the year. Can he keep it up against a Wyoming defense that has been ... less than stellar?

PREDICTION:
- There’s just too much going right for the Aggies and not a whole lot going right for the Cowboys right now. Utah State will more than likely start off sluggish like they do every week. They’ll allow some garbage time points/yards like they do every week. In the end, I don’t see this game being close. Jordan Love and his receivers can’t be stopped right now. The running game is scary, and the defense (albeit fairly average) aren’t slouches. I’m hoping the Cowboys keep it close just for some fun, but I can’t see it really happening
FINAL SCORE: Utah State 56, Wyoming 24
