It’s Monday again, so start your week off right. Mountain West action was in full swing on Friday and Saturday and you can read all about what writers around the teams are saying, all in one location below:
Spartans decimated by Army.
It’s been a tough, tough year for San Jose State. Army is a pretty good team, but not 52-3 good. Not hold SJSU to no touchdowns good. Not putting up 341 rush yards good. It’s extremely difficult to come out after getting beat week after week and if you’re the Spartans, it’s a long season still to be played.
Falcons, nor forces of nature, could stop Aztecs.
A weather delay due to lightning, in San Diego, was not on the agenda Friday night. It was a hard fought back and forth game, but San Diego State prevailed. They still haven’t scored over 28 points in a game this season, but with their stout defense, which faced a multiple passing attack and a triple option in less than a week, it may not matter for the rest of the regular season.
Rams win homecoming game over Lobos.
It wasn’t pretty but it’s still a game that ends up in the win column for Colorado State. A 20-18 game is rarely full of exciting highlights but for a team struggling to win games, they will take it. The writer of this piece gives them a “C” overall and that sounds about right.
Aggies trample all over the Rebels.
UNLV started the game with a nice 7-0 lead. Rapidly, that disappeared and with it their bowl chances in the 59-28 loss to Utah State. While they UNLV is clearly a better team than they have been the past few years, they are not quite good enough as many hoped they would be at the start of the year. Going to a bowl this year is looking pretty difficult at the moment.
Calhoun not happy with officiating, but who is?
Air Force coach Troy Calhoun appears to be in violation of rules 4.2-e and 4.4.5 of MW Sportsmanship Policy for publicly criticizing an official after holding calls on Falcons in game vs @SDSUFootball.

And he probably knows the penalty is "public reprimand."
