Mid-week quotes from commits and visitors

NCAA Football: Georgia State at Air Force Ray Carlin-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to some mid-week recruiting updates. We got in touch with some of the commits and visitors that were listed Monday morning in the weekly roundup. So take a look at why a recruit decided upon your favorite team or what a player thought while visiting this past weekend.

Commitment Spotlight

RB Miguel Fulgencio (Wyoming)

“The coaches and players treated me and my family. They made me feel like I was at home! The atmosphere when it comes to game day! Coach Bath was my recruiter. He’s a great coach, since the first day that he got in contact with me, he’s always been straight up with me. He told me that he wants me to be a part of their program and even with this injury that happened to me he still hasn’t changed and I’m really thankful for that! The coaches said they like the speed that I have and they want to use me as a running back. I love football; it’s definitely a feeling that no other sport gives me. I just know that when you’re on that field it’s the mindset like going to war, that’s what my high school coach has always told me and it’s true. I love that feeling when you know you’re about to get the ball the and everyone is watching you and you know that your teammates are counting on you to get that wining touchdown or a critical first down.”

DB Andrew Jenkins (SJSU)

“My brother committed earlier this week, and I knew I was going to commit as well but we had the whole staff over for dinner last night and I decided to commit then. The coaches were excited to have both of us commit to the program! They are excited for the future. I have a great relationship with some of the coaches on the staff like Coach Bojay, it’s like they are already family! The energy that they have shows me they are invested for the long term and that makes me want to play for them. They are smart and ready to go win a MW championship. They want us to come early in the summer to get after it.”

DB Shawn Dourseau (Fresno State)

“The main factor why I commited is because the coaches are involved in your academics so you can be able to succeed in life in addition to the football field. The team is building with a new staff and they already went 10-4 last year. They had all a brand new staff and did that well. Easy to tell they all want to win. Coach JD has been talking to me since my junior year so we have been getting to know each other for a while so we have a good relationship. They like that I have good ball skills and that I can come down to tackle. I feel like I can play either CB or SS because I have great hands and am able to guard players one and one in coverage.”

Visit Recap

JUCO WR Michael Thomas (visited Hawaii)

“The visit was awesome! The people on the island are so kind. Definitely was that family vibe I wanted in a school the coaches make you feel like they got you back. Overall good experience.”

DE Mario Mora (visited SJSU)

“It was a very cool experience. I really enjoyed hanging out with the guys already on the team, as well as exploring the campus and spending time with the coaches while share a meal.”
