Eric Musselman and Nevada have agreed to a contract extension, a press release issued by the university announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Wolf Pack, led by its second-year head coach, recorded its second-best win total in school history last season with a 28-7 record. Nevada also notched its first-ever Mountain West regular season and conference titles. In his first season in Reno, Musselman also guided UNR to a College Basketball Invitational championship.

Former Nevada forward Cameron Oliver, who spent his only two collegiate seasons under Eric Musselman, announced last week that he would be signing with an agent and will head participate in next month’s NBA Draft.

As a result of Musselman’s extension, he announced that he will be donating $50,000 back to the university for each season he coaches the Wolf Pack, Reno Gazzette’s Chris Murray reported.

“This is a special, special place. We’ve received such great support from the community and the donors since day one. From myself and my family I want to say how excited we are to stay in Nevada. We feel the love. This is home,” Musselman said.

Athletic director Doug Knuth also shared, “We’re excited about the direction that Coach Muss has his program going in. It’s been a lot of fun for us to watch his resurgence.”

The financial terms of Musselman’s extension have yet to be announced.
