Jordan Caroline lead the team with 22 points while Cameron Oliver chipped in with 19 points and 11 rebounds as the top-seeded Nevada Wolf Pack thumped the eighth-seeded Utah State Aggies 83-69 in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West conference tournament.

With the win, the Wolf Pack’s winning streak has extended to seven games and now they will face-off against the winner of the Fresno State/New Mexico game on Friday night.

Nevada started the game on the right track on offense as they jumped out to a 11-2 lead over the Aggies. That lead then ballooned up to a 25-9 lead at the midway point of the first half. By the end of the first half the Wolf Pack were up 45-28 and in the second half, it was more of the same as the Wolf Pack led by as many as 20 points in the second half and never looked back as they cruised to an easy victory.

The Wolf Pack’s offense was impressive today as they shot 49 percent from the field and 35 percent from the three-point line. They also got scoring contributions from Marcus Marshall (14 points), DJ Fenner (9 points), Leland King II (8 points), and Lindsey Drew (six points, six rebounds and four assists) in the winning effort.

Nevada’s defense had a solid performance as well as they limited the Aggies to just 40 percent shooting from the field. And despite good performances from Koby McEwen (17 points) and Jalen Moore (27 points), the Wolf Pack defense did a good job of clamping down on the rest of the Aggies starting line-up.

Nevada will now move on to the conference semifinal round as they will play either Fresno State or New Mexico on Friday 7pm. In the regular season, the Wolf Pack were 0-2 in the regular season against the Bulldogs but went 2-0 against the Lobos. No matter who the opponent will be for Nevada, expect a close contest in the semifinal round.

The game will be played on CBS Sports Network.
