Find out what you missed from the Mountain West.
Colorado State will play spring game on campus with a catch
The Rams closed Hughes Stadium and will play their spring game at Lagoon Field which is where the women’s soccer team plays their home games. The new on-campus football stadium will not be ready until June.
So much for a mid-season break for Colorado State
The Rams start the season on Sept 1. against Colorado and end a week before Thanksgiving on Nov. 18 against San Jose State. Doing the math that means the Rams do not have a bye week and play 12 straight games.
Jalen Robinette had a “pretty good day” at the NFL Combine
The Air Force grad ran a decent 4.62 40-yard dash at the combine but his best performance came in the 60-meter shuttle where he was 13th among wide receivers. He also had a personal best at the bench press.
"Overall I thought it was a pretty good day," said Robinette. "I haven't had too much time to train with my schedule and the (all-star) games I played in. I thought today went pretty well for me.
Air Force safety Kyle Floyd will try to replace Weston Steelhammer
Not only is Floyd stepping into replace possibly the best defender ever at Air Force, but there are four new starters, including himself, with Flyod being asked to be the quarterback of the defense.
Have a listen to Boise State’s Bryan Harsin, QB Brett Rypien and DT David Moa
27th? Fox Sports ranks all of the conference tournaments and says this about the Mountain West.
What was once one of the premiere mid-major tournaments in the country has fallen on hard times with former powers San Diego State, New Mexico and last-place UNLV all struggling. The highlight here is the resurgent Nevada Wolfpack, led by projected NBA Draft pick Cam Oliver.
Regardless of outcome, this is still a one-bid league.
We will hold Eric Musselman to his promise to do his next his press conference shirtless if they make the NCAA’s.
