The Nevada Wolf Pack athletic department may want to get a list of candidates ready to replace Eric Musselman for its head basketball coach. Ben Parker covers Cal for Rivals is reporting that a move may come sooner than later.
Hearing that Eric Musselman may get hired by #Cal as soon as tomorrow. Nothing is ever set in stone, but that is what I've been told. #Pac12

His reporting is not 100 percent on Musselman being gone, but it is leaning that way. That is sort of a good sign for the Wolf Pack faithful.
It is my belief that if Musselman gets the #Cal job, it'll happen sooner rather than later. #Pac12Hoops (See previous tweet).

However, there is a conflicting report coming from the Scout affiliate that covers Cal which says there is skepticism due to the DUI that Musselman had years back, but that is fairly common knowledge of that transgression that was a decade ago. Overall, that publication is saying Musselman is not a great fit for the Golden Bears program.
Cal has always been the most logical spot for Musselman to leave Reno for as he coached in the Bay Area in the NBA as he was the head coach for the Golden State Warriors and also the Sacramento Kings; plus that is an area where his wife would like to live.
Musselman has helped Nevada rise up from a lower-level Mountain West team in two years by winning the CBI in his first year and then winning both the Mountain West regular season and conference tournament to earn the first NCAA Tournament bid in a decade.
