The former UNLV Rebel, Derrick Jones, Jr., has played in only seven games with the Phoenix Suns as a rookie but he is getting his name out there with some serious throw downs in the NBA dunk contest.
He did just that by finishing second behind Glenn Robinson III and in the process earned $50,000 for coming in the runner-up position.
Jones’ first make was going over four people, and he sort of needed some help with a light push off. Still, his first attempt showed off his hops.

On Jones’ second attempt he needed just one attempt to earn a perfect score to earn a spot in the finals.

In the final round, Jones faced off against Glenn Robinson III and it was clear his legs were wearing out as this final dunk did earn a 50 score but was not amazing.
