The Spartans kept their pace, thanks to Terrell Brown’s speed, trailing the Rams by three at 11:42.

SJSU took their first lead of the game, 25-24, after Jalen James made a statement with two three-pointers.

But the lead was short-lived as Emmanuel Omogbo led the Rams with 12 points while James led the Spartans with eight. San Jose State trailed Colorado State 33-29 at halftime.
The Spartans fell behind and never recovered.
Brandon Clarke drove to the basket for a dunk, but San Jose State continued to trail the Rams 40-34 at 15:47 of the second half. Clarke finished with his fourth 20 point effort in five games as the Spartans dropped their second straight with a 81-72 to the Rams in Fort Collins.

Spartans' Brandon Clarke and Rams' Gian Clavell are two of the top-five scorers in the Mountain West during league play.

The Spartans return to San Jose to host the UNLV Rebels Saturday at 2:00 pm PST. You can tune into the game on Mountain West Network and KLIV 1590 AM.
