Final college football rankings: San Diego State ends season in the top 25

The final AP poll is out and the Aztecs make the cut.

The 2016 college football season wrapped up last night in an epic finish which saw Clemson upset Alabama and make up for the semifinal games which were not all that exciting.

With the season in the books the final AP top 25 poll came out and Clemson is obviously one followed by Alabama, but once you get to the end of the poll there is one Mountain West team ranked: San Diego State.

The Aztecs are back in the rankings at the 25th spot after a few weeks out of the poll after losing in the regular season to Wyoming. San Diego State finished the year 11-3 and used a strong second half to end up blowing out the Houston Cougars in the Las Vegas Bowl, 34-10.

Air Force also received consideration with 30 points and Boise State dropped from the rankings after falling to Baylor in the Cactus bowl but the Broncos still earned 19 points.
