The Big question between Colorado State and Colorado is who will start at quarterback. The official battle is between returning starter Nick Stevens, Georgia graduate transfer Faton Bauta and true freshman Collin Hill.
Lets realistically remove Hill from the list, so we are down to Stevens who led the Mountain West in touchdowns last year while not even getting the full time gig until a few games into the season as he was sharing time with the now departed Coleman Key.
The other is a player who head coach Mike Bobo recruited when he was the offensive coordinator at Georgia. The Rams head coach is keeping this news quiet until the teams take the field.
“I don’t know that I’m going to name a starter,” Bobo said on August 18. “I’ll know by Monday who I’m going to start, but I probably won’t let [Colorado head]Coach [Mike] MacIntyre and them know who we’re starting.
[...]
“I’m waiting for somebody to step up,” he said. “We haven’t had enough consistent play to say, ‘Hey, this is the guy, and I want him to lead this football team for the 2016 season.’
