Week 3 Mountain West football TV schedule

Things get started Friday and there are two teams on a bye.

Non-conference play continues for the Mountain West but this week there are just 10 teams in action as Boise State and Air Force get early season byes.

The amount of FCS matchups returns to just two when Colorado State takes on Northern Colorado, and to be fair the Rams need that matchup to figure out who their quarterback will be. The other is Wyoming hosting UC Davis.

The action gets going Friday night on CBS Sports Network with Utah State hosting Arkansas State. The Aggies could be without starting running back Devante Mays as he is listed as questionable and according to head coach Matt Wells is a game-time decision.

The action on Saturday is a long day of football with the first game on ESPNEWS where Rutgers hosts New Mexico at noon on the East Coast, and the Lobos will be without their best offensive and defensive player with linebacker Dakota Cox and running back Teryion Gipson out due to being in concussion protocol.

The afternoon is filled of lots of games in a bunch, so pick accordingly, but the best game just might be San Diego State at Northern Illinois. The Huskies are not what they used to be and are on a slight downtick, but still a dangerous team. This game will help us know more about the Aztecs as they are coming off a huge win over Cal.

The night cap features a game that might actually see the rare #Quinterback as Nevada has said they will play three quarterbacks and Buffalo saying two could play. It may not be five for one team but five for a game, well we will take that.

The final games feature Pac-12 games and they might get ugly as San Jose State hosts Utah and Hawaii continues to rack of the frequent flier miles as they head to Tucson to face Arizona.
