Hawaii football: Warriors surprise senior walk-on Brodie Nakama with scholarship

The Warriors have awarded their long-snapper a scholarship.

Hawaii is full of all sorts of news today. First they announced that Ikaika Woolsey was named the starting quarterback.

Then the team had a swim party, or something, and near the end of it there was a surprise for long snapper Brodie Nakama as he was summoned to the top of the high dive by a shirtless Nick Rolovich.

Nakama has been a walk-on for the Warriors football and has played in every game he was eligible which was 36. There were two games last season where the Warriors did not attempt a field goal or extra point.

The past two years he was perfect s napping the ball and is a three-time academic all-Mountain West, so he is a smart guy as well.

This is a well deserved scholarship for the senior, and now go ahead and watch his excitement as he reads the note that was put on top of the platform and then was more than happy to jump of the 10-meter platform.
