UNLV has improved to 1-1 in the Bahamas after a 106-85 victory over the CTG Knights. Kris Clyburn, Uche Ofoegbu, Jalen Poyser, Christian Jones, and Jovan Mooring started the game for the Rebels. The only change in the starting five from Sunday’s game was Jovan Mooring in instead of Tyrell Green.

Kris Clyburn had a fantastic game shooting 8-10 from the field and 2-4 from three point range for a total of 21 points. Clyburn also added eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

Jalen Poyser shot 7-10 from the field and 1-3 from three point range scoring 17 points. Poyser had seven rebounds and six turnovers.

Christian Jones had his second double-double of the tournament scoring 16 points and bringing in 14 rebounds.

Uche Ofoegbu scored 12 points and had five rebounds despite going 0-3 from three point range.

Jovan Mooring was the most disappointing starter shooting 2-9 from the field and 0-6 from three point range scoring only four points. Mooring started this game over Tyrell Green and didn’t perform well. Also an interesting choice by Marvin Menzies to start the 6’2’’ Mooring over the 6’7’’ Green when already a small lineup to begin with.

The top players off the bench for UNLV were Tyrell Green (14 points and eight rebounds), Larry Bush (nine points and three steals), and Zion Morgan (eight points, three rebounds). The 6’10’’ true freshman Dijordjije Slijivancanin also got some playing time off the bench scoring three points and bringing in one rebound.

CTG was able to score 28 points off of UNLV’s 29 turnovers and 10 points off second chance opportunities.

UNLV will be back in action on Thursday for their final game in the Bahamas against the Providence Storm.
