UNLV Rebels football recruiting: Rebels pick up a pair over the weekend

Jaelon Darden, a 3-star recruit according to 247sports.com, is a 5’9’’ wide receiver from Houston, Texas, who verbally committed to UNLV. Darden received offers from a handful of other schools including Virginia Tech, Memphis, and Louisiana-Monroe. Darden has been complemented on his quickness and agility.

Johnny Johnson III, a 2-star recruit according to 247sports.com, is a 6’0’’ wide receiver from Chandler, Arizona. Johnson III verbally committed to UNLV over the weekend through Twitter.

These two new commits to the 2017 class are the first from outside of the state of Nevada. They join Marckell Grayson (***), Isaiah Morris (**), and Farrell Hester (**) as the only verbals of the ‘17 class.
