Boise State and Florida State already have a deal lined up to play in 2019 at Doak Campbell Stadium and a return trip the following year to Albertsons Stadium.
The current contract states for the Broncos to play the Seminoles on Sept. 7, 2019.
The two schools are nearing a deal to move the 2019 game away from Tallahassee to EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Jacksonville Sports Council officials confirm negotiations and according to First Coast News, "positive discussions continue" to move this game away from the home of the Seminoles.
This is a very odd move to have this game shifted to a neutral location after it originally being scheduled as a home-and-home.
With this game possibly being moved to a neutral site location there could be a bump in pay toward the Boise State program, and as for Florida State, moving game off campus there has to be a financial incentive for them to give up a lucrative home game. At this time there are no details of the financials.
EverBank Field wants more neutral site games in the future. They already host Georgia vs. Florida each year and the stadium will be hosting Notre Dame vs. Navy in 2016.
Boise State is no stranger to neutral site games as they have played in the Georgia Dome twice where they beat Georgia in 2011 but lost to Ole Miss in 2014, the Broncos also defeated Virginia Tech at FedEx Field in 2010.
