2017 looks to be the year for the Aggies, but 2016 will not be all that bad.

Utah State lost most of its coaching staff to various programs across the country and that might put a lot of pressure on the junior quarterback at Utah State. Not only do the Aggies have new coordinators, they also lost their four starting linebackers to the NFL.

However, all is not lost for the Aggies. They have built up benefit of the doubt and, while there are questions on defense, history has shown they are a good unit; until Utah State proves otherwise, the defense should be fine.

The quarterback situation is finally settled after having years of uncertainty with plenty of injuries to go around. Chuckie Keeton is no longer around casting a huge shadow over the program. The position is securely in the hands of Kent Myers, who does not have to look over his shoulder. This could be Myers’ breakout year now that he is the unquestioned guy under center.

There are some concerns on offense, mostly with the wide receivers being green after Hunter Sharp’s departure to the NFL, but the running game should help counter that with the combination of LaJuan Hunt and Devante Mays.

While the division is out of reach, this year, the Aggies should be heading back to a bowl game.
