Former UNLV guard Patrick McCaw was taken in the second round of the NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, but then shipped to the defending Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors must really like McCaw as he has already inked a two-year deal, according to The Vertical. Golden State must be extremely high on the former Rebel as second round selections rarely get a fully guaranteed contract.

"It's crazy," McCaw said during his introductory press conference on Friday. "I mean, I didn't know how much the Warriors really, really, really wanted me as a player.

“And to have that feeling, have guys that really have interest in me and really care about me as a player, to do that is something special. Me and my family felt like the Warriors was the best situation for me. I really felt like it was home."

McCaw’s contract is for the league minimum but with this deal being guaranteed it means that the Warriors expect him to make the team.

Warriors general manager Bob Myers said as much last night after the selection, and that Golden State had McCaw in their top-30 players..

The Warriors see McCaw fitting in with their roster due to his three-point shooting and defensive specialist in the NBA.

Most scouts and NBA Draft gurus like this pick very much for Golden State as do the overwhelming majority of Warriors fans.
