Utah State picked up a highly regarded quarterback in three-star dual-threat Henry Colombi out of Hollywood, Florida.
This was a huge get for the Aggies as Colombi had offers mostly from schools in the Eastern and Midwest part of the country, and included Arkansas, Wake Forest, Iowa State, Ohio, Temple and many others.
"After talking it over with my family, I am excited to announce that I am committed to the Utah State University," Colombi said on his Twitter account.
One reason he chose the Aggies because of the style of play and the level of play that is happening in Logan.
"Utah State is the best fit for me as a quarterback. Getting a chance to compete early and get on the field was also a big thing for me," Colombi told UStateAggies.com. And of course being able to compete for a conference championship and even a bowl game."
Getting a player from Florida seems sort of out of left field on first glance, but the Aggies have seven players from the Sunshine State, and Colombi knows current Aggie running back LaJuan Hunt.
Building a pipeline to Florida could potentially be huge for the Aggies since the amount of talent in the state of Utah is not as plentiful of Florida.
Colombi will be making a visit to the university sometime in July.
