Fresno State’s all-time leading scorer Marvelle Harris was not expected to get drafted but there was a reason of certainty that he would be picked up by a team for their summer league, and that team is the New York Knicks.

In Harris’ final year with the Bulldogs he averaged 20.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.2 steals per game and also led Fresno State to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Mountain West tournament over San Diego State.
Harris is a scorer and a solid defender in his time with Fresno state and NBA teams want players who can put up points. However, Harris at times needed a lot of shots to get his points. He was not that efficient from the field in which he shot 40 percent and then just 33 percent from beyond the arc in his senior season. Improve on those numbers and he may have a shot.
Harris’ contract is only for the Knicks summer league team and depending on how well he plays for that squad will then determine if he will earn an invite to training camp.
