ROOT SPORTS is the regional tier for Mountain West sports and on Thursday they released their television schedule for the upcoming season. The games are aired on the Rocky Mountain feed (for the most part, maybe on Northwest) and include teams in that area.
There are eight games scheduled and only Oct. 22 has a double-header with an afternoon and night game.
Normally games vs. FCS opponents have been regulated to streaming only but the first two games on ROOT SPORTS feature a team from a lower division. The opening day of college football on Sept. 1 has New Mexico hosting South Dakota and then two-and-a-half weeks later Colorado State hosts Northern Colorado.
The Lobos and Rams will be featured the most with three games on the ROOT SPORTS. The last set of games to be released will be on the Mountain West Network to stream, and basically any game not picked up now that is at the home of a Mountain West school will be streamed.
Here is the schedule and all times are Mountain.
September 1 Thursday South Dakota at New Mexico 7:00 p.m.
September 17 Saturday Northern Colorado at Colorado State 2:00 p.m.
