San Diego State is finally getting respect from national media

Get caught up on the Mountain West news you may have missed.

National pundits recognizing SDSU, finally: First it was USA TODAY and not it is Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports who puts the Aztecs at 24 in his latest spring rankings.

Here is what Dodd said:

24. San Diego State Aztecs: The Aztecs need a better publicist. Bet you didn't know San Diego State was one of only 13 teams to win at least 11 games last season (11-3). It won its last 10 games by an average of more than 23 points. It was the only team in the country to produce its conference's offensive, defensive and special teams players of the year. Plus, the Aztecs miss Boise State for the second straight season.

Jay Ajayi is the lead back in Miami: Dolphins head coach Adam Gase said that the former Boise State, and fifth-round pick, has made "separation" among the other running backs in South Beach.

UNLV to host Kansas: This will be a tough non-conference slate for Marvin Menzies and the new look Rebels next year.

MW baseball tournament gets underway: Stay caught up with everything for the Mountain West tournament.

UNLV confident in QB play: The Rebels have upgraded their play under center with JUCO transfer Johnny Stanton and return Kurt Palandech, so for the first time in awhile UNLV has depth at the quarterback position.

Nevada adding more hoops talent: The Wolf Pack are adding the Martin twins from N.C. State.
