UNLV's roster for the 2016-17 year just got a little more relief as new head coach Marvin Menzies earned his first big recruit by convincing Dwayne Morgan from leaving the school. His decision comes nearly one month prior to Morgan asking for his release from the university.

Morgan made the announcement via his Twitter page.

"After consulting with my mom, close family and friends as well as the new head coach Marvin Menzies himself, I have decided to continue my education and career as a Runn' Rebel," Morgan said via Twitter. "The coach really seems enthused about the program, the Runnin' rebel community, and making me better as a person and player.

"I have friends who have had nothing but positive things to say about their experience with coach Menzies and I am humbled for this opportunity to get the program back on track, and I am fully committed to staying. I would like to thank all coaches who recruited me after asking for my release."

This is a huge get for Menzies as the UNLV roster next year has lost multiple players, and Morgan will very likely see an increased in role as one of the key returners.

Last year, he played 19.3 minutes per game and averaged 5.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. he also missed the final six games of the year with a dislocated right shoulder.
