2016 NIT: San Diego State vs. IPFW open thread

San Diego State's expectations fell to the NIT after dropping to Fresno State in the Mountain West title game on Saturday. The real question is if there is a let down for not getting into the NCAA Tournament. If the Aztecs do fall to IPFW it will not be a shock as history has shown highly rated teams who miss the NCAA but go to the NIT have fallen.

This should not happen to the Aztecs. IPFW is from the Summit League and does score a lot of points at 80 per game, but their level of competition has been bad and when they have played good teams like Indiana and Utah they were not even close.

The Aztecs defense need to be on their game but they should be able to cruise to a victory, assuming they are motivated. This is also a great game for Jeremy Hemsley to break his streak of scoring single digits in his previous four games.
