Boise State football: Mark Wahlberg congrats Broncos recruit Jordan Happle

Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg is a Boise State fan? At the very least a fan of one of their latest recruits.

One of Boise State's recruits for their 2016 class has a big-time fan in actor Mark Wahlberg. That recruit is safety/wide receiver Jordan Happle out of Oregon. Happle is not the highest rated prospect with a two-star rating, but he was a  finalist for the Oregon Sports Awards Prep Football Player of the Year.

"My dad's job is sports marketing, so he's become friends with him," Happle told The Oregonian. "I didn't even see it until a friend texted it to me. I don't have social media or anything. It was nice of him."

Happle didn't even know about the congratulatory tweet until some friends informed him, and it must be pretty cool to get a shoutout of this magnitude.

While his connection to Walhberg is certainly high-profile, Happle was not heavily recruited despite having a great junior year with with 74 catches for 1,416 yards and 15 touchdowns, and his size might be the reason that his other offer was Montana State -- Happle stands at just 6-foot-2 and weighs 190 pounds.

His senior year his production did dip a bit with 40 receptions for 639 yards and six touchdowns in eight games.

Here are the highlights of Happle, and a big ol' tip of the cap to Bronco Nation News.
