The San Diego State Aztecs land big 3-star offensive lineman Yasir Durant of Imhotep Intitute (Philadelphia, PA). Durant is the highest ranked OL recruit in the 2016 class, and one of the few recruits who committed within the last week to the Aztecs. He was recruited heavily from Rutgers and North Carolina, but chose to head west to San Diego State.

The signing beefs up the Aztec offensive line which loses seniors Darrell Greene and Pearce Slater. Durant is a huge offensive lineman (6’6", 330 lbs) who will be a great asset for the Aztec’s pro-style offense. For comparison, outgoing senior offensive lineman Greene is listed at 6’4" 325 lbs. The assumption is that Durant will compete for a starting spot this spring/summer so that the Aztecs don't have to reassign their tight ends to the line again.
Durant is one of the few recruits who Tony White, SDSU recruiting coordinator, has reached out to in the Northeast. Kevin Staton, offensive lineman from Chesapeake, VA, is also one of White’s recruits from the eastern time zone.
Durant’s highlight reel looks more like a Godzilla movie, pushing down smaller buildings in run schemes. He is a force to deal with and looks like he could fit right in to open up holes for RB Donnel Pumphrey. You can check more here:
