Name: Alec Simpson

Position: OLB

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 205 pounds

School/Hometown: Palisades Charter HS, Pacific Palisades, CA

Alec Simpson was the Wolf Pack's first commitment of the year, committing on March 13. He committed so early in the process that he didn't even have an offer from another school, but still had interest from BYU, Louisville, Ohio State, and Oregon, among others. Simpson is listed as a 3-star prospect by 247Sports.com and Scout.com, and a 2-star prospect by Rivals.com. Simpson is very athletic with good speed, and has a high football IQ.

Simpson joins a deep group of linebackers at Nevada, which means he will likely redshirt his freshman year. However, with eight juniors and seniors at the position, it is possible he could see some playing time as a redshirt freshman or sophomore.

We interviewed Simpson just over a year ago when he first verbally committed to Nevada, worth a listen.
