The Air Force Falcons will be playing in their ninth bowl game in the ten year reign of Head Coach Troy Calhoun when they head to Tucson and the Nova Arizona Bowl to take on the South Alabama Jaguars of the Sun Belt Conference. Since the Arizona Bowl is only in its second year, this will be the first appearance by the Falcons in the bowl game.
This is the 26th appearance by Air Force in its football history. The Falcons have an overall record of 11-13-1 in its previous bowl games. Most recently, the Falcons lost to California last year in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl by a score of 55-36. This will also be the first matchup for Air Force versus the South Alabama team.
