Boise State faces Baylor in the Cactus Bowl on Dec. 27 and the Bears have a new head coach next year in Matt Rhule, previously Temple’s head coach, and players on this Bears team that has lost six in a row is guaranteeing a victory over the 10-2 Broncos.
Matt Rhule says receiver KD Cannon promised him Baylor would win the Cactus Bowl against Boise State

That is strong talk from K.D. Cannon who in his own right is a very good football player who has caught 73 passes for 989 and 11 touchdowns, all of which lead the Bears passing attack.
Baylor probably thinks Boise State is just some random non-power five team and not a team that won double-digit games this year and is just a few years removed from winning a Fiesta Bowl.
This is nothing new for Boise State, or any other non-power program, but Baylor has been awful the last half of the season and there is also a reason why the Broncos are a touchdown favorite from Las Vegas, and Bill Connelly’s projections give Boise State an 84 percent chance to win and the average margin of victory of 17 points.
Baylor can obviously win this game as they do have a pretty good offense that is fifth in yards per game, but their defense has a lot of issues and are giving up 30 points per game on the year and during their losing streak have allowed 43.6 per game during that stretch.
Unless Baylor’s defense comes up with a big change the odds do not look good that they will upset the Broncos.
