The Spartans began a three-game homestand with a matinee game against the Warriors Saturday. The Warriors were blown out by the Spartans last year,128-66.

It was safe to say both teams wanted to win and score, but there could be only one winner, but Life Pacific College was just over-matched.

The Spartans raced out to a massive 12-3 lead over the Warriors by the first timeout at 15:46 of the first half. San Jose State continued to rise after the promising start. Brandon Clarke finished an off the window jam over the Warriors defense.

The Spartans had a 17 point lead over the Warriors with 7:09 left in the first half. They went on to double their lead to 59-30 at the half. Clarke had more rebounds (9-8) than Life Pacific College. The entire team took care of the ball with 16 assists to five turnovers.

The Spartans remained dominant in the second half. Cody Schwartz scored three back-to-back field goals at 14:06. Schwartz set a new season-high with 12 three-point baskets.

Jaycee Hillsman ended the game with a double-double and led his team 30 assists to tie the current record. The Spartans blew out the Warriors 109-70. With the win, San Jose had two 100-point games in the same season for the first time since 1970-71.

The Spartans will return to action next Sunday when they host the Bowling Green Falcons at 2:00 pm PST on Mountain West Network. You can also listen to the radio broadcast on KLIV 1590 AM.
