ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi has released his preseason bracketology for the upcoming season, and San Diego State is the lone Mountain West team in the 68-team field.

Listed as a #8 seed against North Carolina State in the West region, the Aztecs are listed as the Mountain West autobid, which is what most college basketball pundits anticipate from SDSU as they return the majority of their nucleus this season.

Nevada and New Mexico, two other NCAA Tournament hopefuls from the MWC, did not appear in the first eight out. ESPN’s Dick Vitale, however, projected both San Diego State and New Mexico to reach the Big Dance in March.

Fresno State, last year’s Mountain West autobid and only NCAA Tournament team, is on the outside looking in this season as they look to replace Mountain West POY Marvelle Harris.

The season tips off Friday, November 11.
