The 2016 Mountain West football title game gets an upgrade for the 2016 season as the league has announced that the game will air on ESPN and the kick time has been solidified for a 7:45 p.m. ET start time on Saturday Dec. 3.
The location is not yet set as it will be played on the home court of the highest ranked division champion in the College Football Playoff poll. If there are no teams ranked then the conference will use a combination of computer formulas to determine who will be the host.
As for competition from around college football the ACC and Big Ten title game kickoff at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and FOX and there could be one or two Big 12 games as well in prime-time but their start times are not known.
San Diego State has already clinched its spot as the Western Division representative, and in the Mountain Division it is still a three-team race between Boise State, Wyoming and San Diego State.
Right now Wyoming is in the lead of the Mountain Division and if they win out they will win the division, Boise State needs Wyoming to lose a game and win out and then as for New Mexico they need Boise State to lose a game and then win the rest of their games which includes Wyoming in the season finale.
