In the wake of a huge victory over conference rival Wyoming on Saturday, UNLV has suffered a major loss this weekend as wide receiver Devonte Boyd was lost for the remainder of the season to a broken left arm. With 45 catches, 746 yards and 4 touchdowns, Boyd is both the team’s leading receiver and its most experienced member. To make matters worse, the Rebels were already down two receivers due to injuries to both Brandon Presley and Darren Woods Jr.
UNLV’s receiving corps will now be led by a stable of freshmen, including Jericho Flowers who switched from defensive back to wide receiver earlier in the season.
The team’s next game is against Boise State.
