Nevada Depth Chart vs UC Davis

Not many surprises on the two-deep against the Wolf Pack's first opponent.

Lance Iversen-USA TODAY Sports

The Nevada Wolf Pack released their official depth chart for their upcoming game against UC Davis, and it comes with very few surprises.

Most notably, Tyler Stewart will be the starting quarterback in the season opener, which was announced by head coach Brian Polian two weeks ago. Polian had originally stated that both Tyler Stewart and redshirt freshman Hunter Fralick would play against UC Davis, but the coach has since reversed on that decision, and said that Stewart will play the entire game against the Aggies.

The other battle on offense was the the "Z", or slot receiver. The candidates were junior Brayden Sanchez, who is basically the Wolf Pack's utility player, and sophomore Wyatt Demps. Sanchez was named the starter, and with freshman Dominic Christian as the backup. Demps will now backup Hasaan Henderson at the "F" receiver.

On defense, the Wolf Pack were undecided on one of their cornerback spots, with redshirt freshman Ahki Muhammad and junior Randy Uzoma fighting for the starting job. Muhammad will start across from Elijah Mitchell on Thursday night, as the Nevada secondary gets even younger with two redshirt freshman starting.

For the most part, the depth chart has remained the same since the initial release at Mountain West Media Day. I don't expect it to remain this way all season, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a little bit of shuffling after this first game.
