Week 5 college football rankings: Mountain West still shut out

Despite Boise State running away with their game against Virginia, they are not ranked.

Amber Searls-USA TODAY Sports

Boise State crushed Virginia on Friday night, 56-14, and have won two in a row since calling to BYU on the road, but despite the winning streak the Broncos are still receiving votes in the coaches and AP poll. They are four spots out of being ranked in the AP poll and six spots form the coaches poll to be ranked.

With the way the Mountain West has been this year it may take Boise State just winning big and having teams at the tail end of the rankings. It probably will be a few more weeks before the Broncos will be ranked.
