New Mexico basketball recruiting: Lobos land 2016 top 150 prospect Damien Jefferson

The New Mexico Lobos landed a big time recruit over the weekend in Damien Jefferson who is a three-star recruit and rated as a top 150 prospect (124) by for the 2016 class Jefferson is a 6-foot-5-inch, and 180 pound small forward from East Chicago, Indiana.

Jefferson who is the son of former Lobo Everett Jefferson is only rated six spots lower that former 2016 Lobo commit Mitch Lightfoot. Jefferson who also had an offer Ball State is was off the recruiting radar but has the potential be a good pick up for the Lobos, and he could be a steal once he steps on the court for the Lobos next year.

He is the first commitment for the class of 2016 and can sign his letter of intent later this year in November.
