Utah vs. Utah State is actually one of the oldest rivalry as these two teams have played over 100 times between each other, but this Friday night game might be the final matchup for a while. This is the last scheduled matchup and with Utah's tougher league slate in the Pac-12 and playing BYU for the next five years, this could be the last time the two play for a while.
Utah State has not won at Rice-Eccles Stadium since 1997, going back seven games, and Utah has won 16 consecutive non-conference home games.
The big question in this game is what Utah State team will show up on Friday night. Against Southern Utah, the Aggies did not score an offensive touchdown and quarterback Chuckie Keeton had a poor first night back after recovering from a knee injury he suffered in Week 3 of last year.
Utah is fresh off a win over Michigan and are ranked 24th and they also have room for improvement. Their defense had zero sacks and the rushing game with preseason Heisman trophy candidate Devontae Booker was held to just 69 yards in the season opener.
