Ron Caragher and the San Jose State Spartans have been on somewhat of a recruiting roll recently. With getting three commits in a matter of days in the beginning of July, SJSU has picked up their 8th commitment for the 2016 class in Central High East Elijah Parks.
Parks, a 6'2/295 defensive tackle from Fresno, California, is a two-star recruit whose only offer thus far in the recruiting cycle is from San Jose State. He was also generating some interest from a few different west coast schools such as Southern Cal, Cal, Oregon State, and Fresno State. However, after picking up his first offer from the Spartans back on June 15th, Parks decided to end his recruitment a little early and go ahead and commit to San Jose State.
Despite the low recruiting rating, don't be overly dismissive about Parks. When attending The Opening in Oakland back in May, Parks really exploded on to the scene by winning the defensive line MVP. Yes, there were other highly rated defensive linemen that were there in attendance that he won it over.
Parks on winning the DL MVP:
"I was shocked to be honest, I just felt really blessed I got the opportunity to come. I was actually the last person to be accepted so being able to come and get the MVP feels really good."
